Picture this. The year is 2008, the place – Sofia, Bulgaria. It all started with a passion for natural ingredients. They have been used for thousands of years, and they are still used today, which proves how beneficial they are in supporting our health, both physically and mentally. Did you know that this is because plants are very biocompatible with the human body? Well, we could geek out and write a book about it, but we’ll try to compose ourselves for now. Seriously though, it’s interesting stuff, and you can find all our favourite nature fun facts as you explore our little LMB universe. Now, back to the story!

LMB was born from our founders’ frustration. Why? Because they couldn’t bear the tragedy of wasting nature’s gifts due to the challenges with traditional retail handling of skincare. You see, fresh natural skincare is quite similar to fresh fruits and vegetables – they can gift us the most precious acids and vitamins that we need when they are fresh. Time is of the essence when it comes to natural ingredients, because if you wait too long, they will lose their fresh goodness. (Do we smell curiosity? The truth is that traditionally, all skincare, natural or not, is treated and handled the same. It is usually stored in warehouses for long periods of time before it is placed on hot, brightly lit shelves. Most skincare products can survive this path traditional retail has so kindly laid out for them. This is because they contain preservatives to ensure a long shelf-life, while they wait for someone to pick them up and take them home. 

Unfortunately, fresh natural skincare products can’t wait 1 to 3 years, as they in fact have no preservatives. Warehouses are their worst nightmare because when they stay there for too long, they lose their freshness and potency and therefore their incredible benefits and effectiveness. Not to be a Debby Downer, but this means that they sadly have to be thrown out, and all that fresh natural goodness – poof – wasted. That is the last thing we want. So, these natural products need a home now, like asap!

This continuous struggle to preserve product freshness begged for a solution. So, our founders made a promise to deliver natural ingredients of the best quality and of the highest freshness.
